An intense 3 day workshop on vermicomposting and red worm production was held at the jubilee XXX National Carp Conference in Janów Podlaski, in Poland between February 26-28. The event  attracted more than 250 participants and the ZUT team showed off the research and concluded the workshop with a talk showcasing SAFE results. The carp farmers were interested in the technology and vermicomposting, however, they pointed out that a detailed economic analysis is required before they would be willing to consider its implementation. Nevertheless stakeholders were very optimistic and keen to follow up on the SAFE’s project outcomes. The ZUT team will continue with the red worm production strategies to fulfil carp farmers requirements and expectations. The conference was wrapped up with the Polish carp farmers association calling for stronger cooperation between scientists and the farmers. Stay tuned for more updates!
